  • ½ French baguette, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
For the Caesar Dressing

  • 2 small garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
For the Caesar Salad

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • cup freshly shaved or grated parmesan cheese
  • Homemade croutons
  • Prepared Caesar dressing
Optional Add-Ins

  • Grilled chicken
  • Shrimp
  • Crispy bacon
  • Avocado slices
  • Extra parmesan cheese

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Dry completely using a salad spinner or kitchen towel. Chop or tear into bite-sized pieces and refrigerate while preparing the other ingredients.
Step 2: Make the Homemade Croutons
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place sliced baguette pieces on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, and parmesan cheese. Toss with bread until evenly coated.
Spread into a single layer and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
    Allow croutons to cool completely.
Step 3: Prepare the Caesar Dressing
In a bowl, whisk together garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and red wine vinegar.
Slowly drizzle in olive oil while whisking continuously until smooth.
Season with salt and black pepper.
    Step 4: Assemble the Salad
Place chopped romaine lettuce into a large serving bowl.
Add parmesan cheese and homemade croutons.
Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss gently until lightly coated.
    Step 5: Serve
Top with extra parmesan and black pepper if desired. Serve immediately for the freshest texture.
